Title: Counterplay
Duration: 5 minutes
Audience: Our film has some features of violence and drugs, which means that we have put the certificate as a 15. This, obviously, rules out all people under the age of 15. More specifically, we have decided to aim our film at teenagers and young adults between the age of 15 and 23. The audience will have a distinct interest in films with a horror/thriller genre.
Distributor: We have decided to have an independent distributor for our film as our genre is quite independent based. So we have done our research and decided that Hammer would be the most appropriate.
Synopsis: The scene opens with two hooded figures doing a drug deal, from their shape, we can see that they are possibly men. The drug dealer, receives the money from the other figure. the other figure is then seen running off from the dealer. A close up of the dealers face is shown. He is angry. The film then cuts to show a young girl in her house preparing herself for bed. Once in bed she posts a status upon her social networking site expressing that she is home alone as her parents have gone away on holiday. The film then cuts to see a man looking at the girls social networking page after she had posted the status. The girl is then seen locking all the doors in the house and checking that all windows are shut. She then moves on to turn her bedroom light off and returns to bed. The time is 3am. The girl is awakened by a knock on her front door. She tries to ignore it, but it gets much louder. She then sneaks downstairs to the front door as she is curious. She opens the door to find that no one is stood there. Puzzled, she steps onto the front step and looks around. She still doesn't see anyone. Running back into the house, she makes sure that the door is locked behind her. She picks up the phone and dials her friend. She goes on to explain what has just happened and that she is scared. Whilst on the phone, you can see the male figure stood behind her. She turns to walk into the kitchen and see's the man stood behind her in the hallway. She screams and then runs to try and open the front door, when she realises its locked she sprints upstairs and locks herself in her room. She goes to ring 999 but realises her phone is downstairs after dropping it in shock when seeing the man, so she has to use the landline. When she dials 999 all she hears is a continuos beeping as the phone line had been cut. From outside the room, we can hear creeping footsteps. A shadow is seen from under the door. An envelope is pushed under the door. Curious, the girl goes over and opens the envelope. The film then flashes back to the woman only giving the drug dealer one real note. It cuts back to the girl sat in the corner of the room. She is shaking and crying. Next, we see a close up of a hand pulling a knife from within a draw. A dark figure is seen leaving a room approaching the other figure from behind. The film then cuts to the girl leaving her house holding a knife covered in blood.
